Thank you for giving a total outsider this amazing opportunity, I thoroughly enjoyed my day with you all. Without doubt Bearley Village Hall is a wonderful venue & the wonderful lunch & hospitality was first class. It was quite some time ago when I got asked to judge this prestigious event & I did question myself when I accepted if I was doing the right thing, I can confirm that I’m so pleased I did & the quality in front of me in both competitions certainly made me think. From a school boy I have found this delightful breed interesting & educational, having just made my 70th UK Dachshund Champion & breeder of The Breed Record Holder in Tibetan Spaniels I thank you for your warm welcome & accepting my decisions in the sporting way in which you did. A thought provoking assignment that I will remember thanks to your wonderful gift, a truly memorable day!

Veterans; Litter brother & sister topped this wonderful selection of Veterans, Veteran of The Year was Mr S Parker’s Ch Vardenais Lumos VW, in his tenth year, fit, in gleaming condition with great muscle tone & full of life. Very good head & expression, strong muzzle, well arched neck, well filled front on great legs & feet, correct in backline & underline with super well sprung ribbing, strong well-made quarters, no sign of weakness here. In profile he retained his outline at all times moving out correctly & perfectly co-ordinated. Thought him rather special!

Runner Up was his Sister Miss A Coull’s Ch Vardenais Mischief Managed JW, she too was full of life & in great condition, ultra-feminine, loved her head & her dark oval eyes that where full of mischief, well arched neck that she uses so well on the move to project herself, good shoulders on the best of legs & cat liked feet. Typical backline, super ribbing , super quarters with neat & strong parallel hocks. Moved out with style & accuracy while retaining all that is good about her, both pleased me immensely & are a credit to your breed

Puppies; Puppy Of The Year was Ms S James’ Jaegerson Centerfold, this young lady was my eventual winner from a wonderful selection of youngsters that where a privilege to judge, for me she oozes quality, femininity & breed type. Beautiful head & expression, darkest of points throughout, small correctly set on high ears, strong well arched neck, first class shoulders & front, broad enough & filled , very good legs & feet, very good ribbing, strong sloping topline, tail is correctly set & a clear continuation of her backline, strong quarters on the neatest of hocks. Moves soundly coming & going with style & attitude. In profile she kept a perfect silhouette & full filled my interpretation of your breed standard, I will continue to follow her with interest, loved her!

Runner Up was Miss A Coull’s Vardenais Hot As Hell JW, wow he certainly is, masculine with no sign of being course. Totally alert to everything going on! Loved his head & expression with good dark points, oval eyes & good strong jaws. Well arched neck, good shoulders on great legs & cat liked feet. Ribbing is well sprung & covered, correct proportions throughout, solid backline, enough angulation on the strongest of parallel hocks. His movement is correct & full of style , everything he does is with little effort but great animation. His type & performance could not be overlooked & made a very fitting & close Runner-Up
